Backlight for Screen goes off after sleep and stays off

I am re-posting this from a couple of weeks ago in the hope that someone can help me out.

When my X60 tablet wakes up from sleep, the screen backlight often refuses to come back on.
If I re-boot, it will be back on just fine.

Has anyone had this problem? anyone know a fix?
I am hoping that there will be an arcane Windows setting which will miraculously fix this, but I fear I will need a new screen.

Can anyone help?

Same happened to me when I disabled the Lenovo Doze service.
