Do flat travel covers for Ultrabay Slim exist?

#1 Post by dr_st » Mon Dec 13, 2010 5:22 am

I'm trying to answer this question once and for all.

From reading the forum I've seen answers ranging from "don't exist" through "exist but not perfectly flat" to "may exist but very rare".

I know for a fact that even the travel cover packaged with the X6x ultrabase is curved.

I've tried searching Google Images, and could see some that look as if they may be flat (or "flatter"), but have not seen a single picture that shows a perfectly flat cover sitting inside an Ultrabay Slim (as flat as the flat optical drive bezels).

Has anyone, ever, at all, seen such a cover?

The first one above has the beveled bezel - scroll down for pic.

The second, to fit the x300, would be 8mm and leave a gap since a Ultrabay Slim is 9.5mm

Try this one:

To work in a T400 it would to be flush and, since it's a dummy, it would probably not matter that the interface connections on a T60 are different. (But don't know that for a fact)
