Doh! I managed to put my x61t in a pile of stuff and the screen got scratched when I unpiled it.
The scratch is just on the surface and doesn't affect the operation of the LCD. However, since this is a tablet, I wonder if just the pen pad part of the screen can be replaced instead of the entire LCD display assembly.
I this possible on a type 7769-A53? Is this the type of thing that has to be done by a service professional?
Thanks

Re: Deep scratch on screen
I suppose it could be done, but it is very difficult to remove the digitizer glass without cracking it.
Re: Deep scratch on screen
The X61 tablet screens have the writing surface bonded to the surface of the screen in a way that makes it nearly impossible to remove without destroying it. It is really easy to crack the LCD when you are doing it. The writing surface is not available separately also. I have removed the surface with great difficulty and replaced it with the surface from an x60 tablet that had a burned out bulb. (easier to remove)
