Hi.
I seems like my cdrw/dvd drive is not detected when windows xp loads up. Only when I remove it and reattach it, it is detected. I think this may be a driver problem, but I don't know for sure.
I have loaded linux onto my laptop in the past, but switched back to a non-ibm version of windows.
Now, I have the IBM recovery disks, but I can't even get them to boot up at start up, because the drive is not detected.
Please help.

Re: Please Help: Ultrabay drive sometimes not detected
Try to find out whether it is a hard- or software problem. Try booting with the knoppix CD or the systemrecoverycd from http://www.sysresccd.org/ , don't forget to change the boot order in the bios.bigoxygen wrote:Hi.
