Possible To Swap Hard Drives Between Two X200 Tablets?

#1 Post by epu » Fri Dec 24, 2010 6:57 am

With my motherboard possibly failing, would it be possible to swap hard drives between two X200Ts and carry on as normal? Would I just need to make sure that the Machine type is the same? (In my case 7448CTO). I may purchase a 'new' X200T (w/Multitouch) off of eBay.

you would need to reactivate windows if you are using win vista or 7.

The same key would work then correct? If I would need to reactivate, then I wouldn't have to worry about the Machine type right? Just make sure it is an X200 Tablet with all of the options that my current one has (Expresscard, Multitouch, 4GB, AT&T Wireless, etc)??

you should have an authenticity sticker on the bottom of the laptop which allows you to activate the os (provided they are of the same version and edition).
