T43 Custom factory format:-How to?
Please guide as to how to do custom factory restore on T43 machine 2668. I am thinking of restoring the hard drive to the original factory state. I am not too keen to use the Thinkvantage tools, would like to do Custom factory restore. I don’t see any options of customization while doing the Factory restore. I did the factory restore, and still have thinkvantage tools on the machine
.

The only Thinkpads that had custom restore options were the T61, X61 and R61, but it wasn't long before Lenovo removed it.raptorhertz wrote:I don’t see any options of customization while doing the Factory restore.

Thanks for the Information; I am doing the factory restore for the second time in a day to remove the Thinkvantage tools.
What is the other way to get rid off them?

Once you have a lean, mean setup, with all the bloatware removed, and all the latest updates installed, you should use a program like Acronis TrueImage, and take an image of your hard disk, not bothering with that stupid recovery partition.
To make the image only takes minutes.
In future you can restore/install that image also in minutes (with Acronis) on any hard disk you like.
And completely forget about the tedious job of restoring from a crummy, bloated, outdated recovery partition, or playing disk jockey with a set of outdated CDs/DVDs.

Will do that. Would there be any issues if I remove Access IBM from control panel? IBM rescue and recovery with rapid restore occupies 68MB on hard disk, if I remove it, will I loose the Hidden partition of R&R?
