R500 and 1080p hardware acceleration

#1 Post by Caterpillar » Fri Dec 31, 2010 7:16 pm

Have a R500 Type 2714 with mobile Intel 4 series express chipset family
I would like to know if it is capable to play hardware accelerated 1080p mkv files.
Some months ago I tried with XBMC and it played very well in Windows 7.
Today I was trying again and I noticed a lot of stuttering... Bah, don't know why, so I came here to ask for hardware acceleration...
I think it is impossible that the last R series Thinkpad does not have a hardware acceleration for HD videos

Can you provide a link to a file that stutters on your machine? I have some R400 and T400 machines here with the same chipset, and I can try the HD videos for you.

It is not possible to give a link, but I can say that I have just tried from Fedora 14 and it goes wonderfully, so the problem is Windows...
