x200t Ericsson F3507G in a x201t: 1804 error
I've just attempted to install my x200t Ericsson F3507G into my newly bought x201t only to find that when I boot I get an 1804 error saying that my lenvovo WWAN card is "unauthorized". I went through my bios figuring it was security setting, i mean it seems insane that lenovo would call a card they sell as "unauthorized" but I can't find anything.
The only thing I can do is disable WWAN in the bios to get the device to boot.
Is there any solution to this problem? Why is it happening?

worked fine in an unmodified x200t, so lenovo went and banned it?
*sigh*
Do you know where I can get a modified bios for a x201t?

IBM and then Lenvovo have had a quite consistent policy, over quite a long time now, of only supporting very specific devices (the current industry hot wireless devices) when introducing new models , so its not like this is any surprisespudthedestroyer wrote:worked fine in an unmodified x200t, so lenovo went and banned it?
Whether you like it or not, the whole area of RF devices in laptops is quite tricky in terms of approvals by communications regulators.

Is there any solution for this issue now via BIOS whitelists etc.? I have an X201 Type 3680 and was under the impression from the supplier of the card that it would work. I understand that I can take it up with the supplier (and I have done) but I would appreciate a source for a fix to this problem as I'm sure it would help others in the same position. Thanks in advance.bill bolton wrote:IBM and then Lenvovo have had a quite consistent policy, over quite a long time now, of only supporting very specific devices (the current industry hot wireless devices) when introducing new models , so its not like this is any surprise
