screw stripped while repairing screen inverter

#1 Post by ccookie66 » Sun Jan 02, 2011 3:51 pm

Hello, my IBM ThinkPad T40 laptop had many sighs of the screen inverter going bad, so I found this article about how to replace the screen inverter: http://www.laptoprepair101.com/laptop/2 ... backlight/
But, when I was unscrewing the screws, the last on stripped. :help: I can't get it out, I have tried many ways, no use. :(
The only thing I can thing of is, #1 get a whole new screen, the whole top part of the laptop. That would fix the problem with the inverter also. Or, try to get the screw out. Any tips?

Are you talking about the actual little screw that holds the inverter down or one of the LCD bezel screws?

You could try several do-it-yourself things:

Good luck...
