T60p power manager on Win7

#1 Post by tpribors » Sat Jan 08, 2011 12:04 pm

A year ago I did a new Windows 7 install on my T60p and used a combination of System Update and manual installs to get the Lenovo software back. The only thing that has given me any grief is power manager. I always create a "This Thinkpad" power profile that is a little more aggressive on battery since I rarely use it in a mode where I care how long the battery will last - i.e., "between power plugs". What happens is that the battery portion of this profile is set to never standby and never hibernate. Yet under circumstances that I still can't create at will, the profile always comes back to 5 min standby and 20 min hibernate. When I go to get a new refreshment, return an old one, and the system is powered down I dutifully bring it back up again, reset the timers and continue working. It inevitably comes back with the timers again.

Anyone else see this?

Anyone know how to make it go away?

Thanks!
Tony
