Compatible Displays (Screens) with T61

Hello,

I have IBM Thinkpad T61 8889 with broken display (14,1" SXGA+ 1400x1050). I want to ask if anyone knows which companies produce displays that are compatible with this model, so that i can change it.
My broken display is from Toshiba M a t s u s h i t a LTD141EN9B but unfortunately i cannot find it here in Germany (and if a find one it will be way to expensive).
I will appreciate if someone gives me a list of displays which fit on T61.

Hi Johns*..

Here is a post that might help you source the display ......Upgraded..T60 to UXGA.....nice!
Might want to see if same 'suppliers" can do a 14 inch for your needs - and install a 14'.1- UXGA

The following are all 14.1" SXGA+ LCDs (4:3 aspect, 1400x1050):
Boe Hydis 42T0433
Samsung 42X4582
Samsung 42X4687
TMD 13N7063
The next two are from the T60, and will also fit. Probably only different P/N for the same screens as above.
Samsung 13N7059
BOE-Hydis 13N7061

Do you have also the LTD*** numbers of these displays (the model number, not the P/N ) ?

When you buy on eBay, make sure to ONLY buy original IBM/Lenovo parts.
If they say "compatible with...", RUN as fast as you can. 9 out of 10 times they don't work.

It is really a problem on T60 and T61 screens. Often the manufacturer's part number stayed the same between T4x screens nt the t6x screens, but the revision numbers changed. In most cases, the screens from T4x screens don't have the eeid EEPROM, needed by T6x machines and you can blow a fuse on the motherboard. Hydis screens usually have the eeprom, but it has no data in it

Is it possible to upgrade a 14" 1024x768 xga screen with a 1400 x 1050 sxga ?
Does anything else need to be changed in the process to make this work ?
This will be in a T61 type 8895-01u.

Possibly the inverter, though it should work with the stock part.

You only need to replace the LCD, the rest is the same.
