Download the HMM and replace the fan, that's all there's to it...

Actualy, with A30, A30P, A31 and A31P it doesn't have to be the fan.
These models has a screw hole where there is a high risk of putting a long screw into a short hole - and doing so will cause a fan error.

If the problem first occurred right after the machine had been opened, it is most likely the screw problem.
If the machine hasn't been opened recently, then of course it is most likely the fan itself.

Dragged out the old A31 fan assemblies, and bases and found none of the others worked in this machine, all generating fan error. The fan assembly was good,it worked in another machine. Put the meter on the plug for the fan assembly and found no voltage to the plug.

I'd be guessing a blown fuse somewhere...there's a diagram by sjthinkpader floating around this forum...will try to locate it later on...

Good luck.
