Will a T42 Recovery CD work on a Z61T - Win XP?

Hey all, I was thinking of getting a used Z61T that has a wiped disk (no recovery partition). Does anyone know whether I can slap in the T42 recovery disks and get this up and running - ie Windows activation? I know I will need to pulldown the right drivers, but other than that I would appreciate comments. I did this successfully when I used the T42 discs on X31s and X40s but not sure whether the Z series would also work

My guess would be no because of the SATA controller.

Very different hardware and an entirely different HAL. It may install but will never work properly.

Try locating a set for T60 or R60, that will work with no major issues, if you can't find the proper Z61 media.

You certainly can try using the T42 disks...but perhaps you would be more satisfied trying Windows 7 which happens to run very nice on the Z61t.
