Cheap 390x restoration *update*

Today I bought an old 390x at the University Surplus shop for ten bucks, so if it ends up never turning on and working again I wont be out too much. I'd love to make it run again, but I'm a college student so my budget is extremely low. It didn't come with a hard drive or power cable, so I was wondering what you guys would recommend for the hard drive. I just need the bare minimum as my budget is tight. thanks!

I got the power cord and it turns on and I get get into the bios, there's no hard drive so that's all I can do. I was wondering if there was a way I could boot an OS from a USB flash drive? Just for the time being until I get the hard drive connector

Any 2.5" PATA/IDE hard drive will do, with a max. of 32GB.

Did it come with the HD caddy and door? If not those will cost more then the machine itself. You will probably need a new PRAM battery but those are only a few dollars.

Also I don't think the older taller HDs will fit (incase you found one laying around).

You can get generic power bricks off ebay for around $10 shipped.

It came with the hard drive door, not the caddy though. I have this: "Fujitsu MHF2021AT (2.1 GB, IDE) Hard Drive" from an old laptop I had lying around, but the caddy is literally a millimeter too long for the laptop, it slides all the way in, but its too long for the door to be screwed in.

Also, the connector for the hard drive that was in the other laptop is different than the 390x, so would this fit on the HD and work: http://cgi.ebay.com/IDE-Hard-Drive-Conn ... 387wt_1139
