#1 Post by ReCreate » Sat Jan 22, 2011 7:59 pm

I removed the keyboard from my TabletPC to clean it(crumbs, etc) and i noticed an unused connector, What is this for?

I'm referring to the white 2-pin connector. Not the one labeled CN4.

Admin edit: Removed 1.6MB inline image. Please keep any images <50Kb.

Pretty sure that's the modem 2 wire connector, is your modem hooked up? I'm not certain if it was standard on the X40/X41.

Do I spot a battery attached in your picture? You better take it out when disassembling components...

Yes, Though all i was doing is removing the keyboard to quickly put it back.(and nothing else) Would that really be necessary just for that?

Yes, it is. It is on the underside of the tabletPC. next to the RAM and wifi card. I don't think that's it.

The microphone is on the other side of the tabletPC. Right under the arrow keys. So that isn't it either.

The small white connector in the photo is for the lid closed/suspend switch, which the tablet does not use. There are enough parts in common they left an unused connector on the MB. I put an X41T MB in an X41, and even though it has this connector, it is ignored. The microphone cable is just to the side of the CMOS battery. The fingerprint connector (if fitted) would be just inboard of the CMOS battery.
