Audio drivers for A31 after installation of Win7 & Off 2011

#1 Post by richardm777 » Sun Jan 30, 2011 3:23 am

After installing W7 and O10 my audio drivers are showing none installed in Device Manager.

Does anyone know what drivers can be used and where they can be downloaded.

Lenovo site does not seem to have any other than for W2000 and XP

Thank you in advance

Try the XP, worst that is going to happen is it still does not work.

Thank you muchly.
You are right - it doesn't work.

So I'm wondering if there is another IBM driver or generic driver that might work.

Surely I'm not the only one this has happened to - at least that's a good theory.

Thanks again.

No.

Audio chip failure is extremely common on A31 units.

You'll need an external (PCMCIA or such) sound card.

Good luck.

When you installed the XP driver, does the yellow exclamation mark go away? If so it worked and you have a hardware failure. Not fixable.
