T43 with a dead hard drive...

#1 Post by Walterxi » Sun Jan 30, 2011 7:10 pm

So it appears the factory original hard drive just decided to puke and I have a Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD1600BEVE 160GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache 2.5" PATA Internal Notebook Hard Drive that I was using for storage.

I was using this for storage, BUT....when I put it into the t43 it's not even recognized and I really have no idea whats wrong.

I'm considering buying stock in Tanguray and Tylenol at this point.

Not sure what it is I need to do to get this to work.

Welcome to the forum!

Make sure that the drive is inserted correctly (label down) and secured by all four screws in the caddy, as well as with one that holds the HD cover in place.

Good luck.
