Can you buy a Thinkpad IN PERSON, not from the internet?
I'd really like to purchase a T or X series tp, but I can't decide between them--I need to touch them and get a "feel" for each of them before I can commit to one.
I never see IBM sold in computer stores anymore. The shelves are stocked full of crap like Sony, Toshiba, and HP. Do any of you know of a directory of locations that deal in IBMs? Thank you sooo much.
IBM FOREVER!
I used to have an IBM Aptiva desktop from 1996... rock solid, lasted all these years and still works though it is horribly outdated. Loved it.

I got mine at MicroCenter
I don't know how it works where you are, but back in the back of the store there were some offices and I think the guys title was something like "Business Sales" he was very friendly and easy to deal with. I had my T41 the next day.
Hail TakiusProteus!
There used to be a little shop behind the Coliseum, but I understand that they had to move when the new Arco di Constantino went up!

If you live in NYC you can go to RCS Computers located on Madison & 56th. The last time I was there (about 4 weeks ago) they had The T42's (both 14" and 15") and an X series oin display. They stock only a couple of models of each I believe but at least you can see and play with them. Their phone # is (877) 746 - 7727, call them to see what they have. Their prices are high though.
If you're in the City you can also "see" some models downtown at J&R (http://www.jr.com/templates/information/directions.tem), but most of their units are refurbs and rarely will you see NIB items. They'll often have some recent models out for display purposes (or bait and switch depending on whom you ask!).TakiusProteus wrote:I live in New York =p
