T60 to drive external monitor at 1920x1080

#1 Post by antocaru » Tue Feb 01, 2011 4:16 am

Hi all,

I have a T60 with the ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 video card running at the native resolution of 1400x1050 and the Advanced Mini Dock which provides a DVI connector. I am considering buying a Samsung SyncMaster PX2370 monitor, it's a 23" monitor with a 1920x1080 resolution. Will the T60 be able to drive the Samsung at its native resolution? I checked the Thinkpad Display Scheme software (Fn+F7) and amongst the resolution options for the external monitor I see the WUXGA 1920x1200 but not the 1920x1080.

Thanks a lot!
Anto

I think that when you plug-in ext monitor it will be automatically recognized (plug&play) and new display options added (that was my case when I plugged my Hyundai 21inch with 1920x1050). If not, you may download dedicated monitor driver (inf file) from samsung website...
