Hard drive caddy fit

#1 Post by brucehe » Tue Feb 01, 2011 1:25 pm

Hello,

I purchased a HD caddy for my T400 off of Ebay. When I install the rubber slides the fit is very tight, in fact it will not go into the opening. I got it stuck but thankfully got it out without breaking anything. I probably can make the rubber bumpers smaller by sanding them down a bit but was wondering if this is normal or I just got a marginal part of off Ebay.

thanks,

Bruce

A lot of the aftermarket ones are tight. I use a small amount of SuperLube (Silicone lubricant).

Hello all,

I pulled the hard drive from my T60 and it fits fine in the T400. I also tried the rubber bumpers from my T60 with the T400 caddy and it fit fine too. I then measured the rubber bumpers and found the aftermarket ones were each .5 mm wider than the ones on my T60 so no wonder it would not fit. I had sanded them down a bit but will work some more on them.
