MS XP Update offers new Lenovo display

#1 Post by AEN007 » Tue Feb 01, 2011 1:34 pm

1February2011
Greetings.
This weekend I did my XP updates from MS.
One optional item was "new Lenovo display".

In January 2010 I downloaded/installed the ATI 8.133.2.1.1.1-070206a driver from Lenovo.
This ATI driver was more recent (& seems much better) than the ATI driver I was using.
The ATI 8.133.2.1.1.1-070206a driver is still the latest T30 video driver at Lenovo.

Anyone else been "offered" a new Lenovo display by MS WinUpdate?
Anyone know ANYTHING about this new Lenovo display.
MS WinUpdate says
Lenovo - Display - ThinkPad Display 1024x768

Lenovo Display software update released in December, 2009

If the update was released in December 2009 I don't know why MS never offered this before.
I have not found anything on the Lenovo site about whatever this is that MS is offering.

I was offered the same thing when I updated both of my T23s on MS's site a couple of weeks ago. Since the driver was a newer version, I figured it can't hurt. So far they are running good with no problems. Don't know much else about the update except that it's a newer version.

Toshiba A75-S206, 1.5gb RAM & Windows 7 Home Premium
ThinkPad T-22 (Formerly a T-20), 512mb RAM & Win XP Pro
