Help: Unknown Device in Device Manager

#1 Post by madflava54 » Fri Feb 04, 2011 10:29 pm

I have a T61p and I put in an OCZ Vertex II SSD into it a few days ago. I flashed a BIOS update and I thought that was all I needed to download or install. I think the unknown device is referring to the SSD as that is the only new device that I added. Here is a screenshot of what shows up in Device Manager.

On the details tab, select hardware ID, post it here.

No, in device manager, as in your posted screenshot, there is a details tab. Go into it and select hardware ID from the drop down. Post the hardware ID of the unknown device here.

Harryc means: In Device Manager on the Details tab, select Hardware ID, and post that here.

That fixed it. Thanks! Will this improve battery life by any chance?

Another question, in power manager, the battery information says that "Designed Voltage" is 10.80V. Then for "Voltage" it says 12.43V. This doesn't seem right.

It could if you select a battery saving power scheme in Power Manager.
