X300 Loud fan

#1 Post by Sindbad » Sun Feb 06, 2011 9:20 pm

Hey everyone.

I sold my Thinkpad T400 few days ago http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... 25#p615425

Today I bought the X300 4GB\64SSD. One thing that bothers me A LOT after having a t400 for a year is a noise. The fan of X300 is loud. What can be the problem? Anyone had this problem before?

Today: Apple MacBook Pro 13 (Late 2011)
In past: T400s , X300 , T400 (P8400) , X41 Tablet and R52

just installed tpfancontrolsource, but is there any other way to fix this problem? I mean, without the 3rd party soft? Is it normal for X300?

This laptop is still under the warranty, should I try to give a call to Lenovo hoping that they can fix it?

The fan on my X301 is so quiet I never notice it. Not sure if it is a different setup than your X300.

it's second hand? it could be that there's some dust in the cooling, try taking it apart and remove the dust. if it's clean, then I think your best bet would be to contact lenovo.
