Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think people are saying in 6 months or so. Personally, I think it all depands on Intel and when they'll release their next mobile processor. That seems to be the trend with T-Series in recent years, a new model pops out whenever there is a new generation of CPU.

I don't think there will be a T50 anytime before 2006. If SATA hard drives become common in notebooks, I would expect a T44 with SATA support.

The next generation Pentium M, Yonah (dual core processor) is supposed to ship in Q4 '05 for launch in Q1 '06, along with the Callistoga chipset & Golan wireless card (collectively known as the Napa platform).

The Intel dual core is scheduled for 1Q/2006, as far as I know. That's what I am waiting for to upgrade my beloved T40p. Hopefully already with Longhorn preloaded, but this will propbably not happen before 3Q/2006.

Why will you need to upgrade your T40p in Q1 2006? It'll hardly be obsolete by then!

I don't know about s0larian's T40p, but my T40's warranty expires at the tail end of Q1 '06. I start considering a replacement when the warranty runs out. :D
