W510 left hinge makes clicking sound when closing

Hi there,
New laptop. Colleague has same issue and our IT department says it is normal.

When I close the lid slowly from >1/2 way open, the left hinge creaks in small click steps a couple times.

Does not happen if I close it fast

Thoughts?

Just trying to avoid my companies standard image load
