Moving Tpad display to external monitor
I don't, know what I did, but something has changed. My Z61 w/ XP Pro is hooked up to an external monitor. It was displaying on my external with all desktop icons and I actually want it that way. Now all the icons are on the tpad display and just the desktop background is on my external monitor.
I would like a blank tpad display and everything on my external, can someone tell me what is wrong? I tried to use search and help topics, but it will not change back like I want...

Re: Moving Tpad display to external monitor
Close the lid on your Thinkpad. I think FN-F7 might toggle to only external as well.

FN-F7 does nothing, closing the lid puts the tpad in standbyHarryc wrote:Close the lid on your Thinkpad. I think FN-F7 might toggle to only external as well.

You need to disable extended desktop. If you have an ATI GPU you can do that in Catalyst Control Center. If not, then it can be done in XP Display properties (right click on the desktop). A third alternative is to set up single external display in Lenovo Presentation Director.

Re: Moving Tpad display to external monitor
I have Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver, not ATI (wish I did), no icons on my monitor, but the mouse arrow will move between screens, that does a whole lot of good.Harryc wrote:You need to disable extended desktop. I have been to right click display properties and don't seem to be able to get anything there.....where is Presentation Director at?

Re: Moving Tpad display to external monitor
you need to go into intel graphics properties (right click on desktop, graphics properties), then choose the option "external only", or if you want both screens, choose external monitor as your primary screen. you can download presentation director from lenovo, that would do the configuration automatically.
