My virus scanner (Avira) keeps blocking access to this file on the Lenovo_Recovery partition of my T410. Local and online virus and malware scans don't seem to turn up anything. Here's the VirusTotal report. Is this file legitimate or is it a problem that should be removed?
Thanks!

Re: Q:\autorun.inf?
autorun.inf is used to tell the operating system which programs/files to run when the disk/drive is recognized/authenticated. E.g. when you insert a CD/DVD into the CD/DVD drive the operating system reads the instructions found in autorun.inf and performs the action specified. In the recent years the autorun.inf feature has been disabled in most operating systems as a malicious CD/DVD/ISO image could use the autorun.inf feature to load/start an infected or otherwise compromised file/program.
So if you require access to the autorun.inf then either set the location of the file or the file itself as safe in your anti-virus program. Otherwise let it just be as it is, as the saying goes: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Re: Q:\autorun.inf?
Thanks. I have noticed that the R&R software tends to use older software versions or methods (like autorun), so I suspected such might be the case here. I'll just let Avira do its thing.

Re: Q:\autorun.inf?
So is Q:\ (Lenovo Recovery; system image partition, I think?) a safe location for autorun.inf? Or should it only be on the removable media itself? Thanks
