X20 display black specks

Hi there,

my trusty X20 has a problem. At the lower left corner of the display is a
not really small black speck. It looks like leaked ink behind the display. Funny thing is, it changes its size, depending if it's warm or cold. Sometimes it even vanishes, sometimes it's annoyingly large. (Think ozone hole) At the moment it is just annoying, but i fear it will become bigger with time. Do I assume right that this is the background light and can I do something about it? Or are those a large number of dead/zombie-like pixels? Anybody had the same problem and solved it? Do I have to change the whole display/backlight?

Yes, it is sharp at the edges.
