I just repaired a 15" T42 (2376-UN3) that I picked up on ebay. I also bought a 14" T42 (2373-DE5) off Craigslist. I went to use the Recovey CDs from the 14" to load the OS and Recovery partition on the 15". I discovered that the seller of the 14" didn't include disk 7.
Can I just create a bootable Windows XP Pro CD using the Rescue and Recovery CD without installing the Recovery Partition?
I don't know how many times I have searched this forum since I joined, but I think I found my answer. We shall see if it works.

If not my 15" T42 parts machine has an IBM XP Home key on it and I have a Win XP Home OEM CD slipstreamed with SP3. For what I want to use the laptop for XP Pro shouldn't be necessary.
