ZIF cable for toshiba hard drives?

#1 Post by astroidea » Thu Feb 24, 2011 6:04 pm

So I'm trying to hook up the 30GB toshiba hard drive from my broken zune up to my x41 tablet. I bought a ZIF to IDE converter from here. http://www.dealextreme.com/p/ce-zif-to- ... card-20295

The problem is that I bought it a while ago and lost one of the cables. The cable I have doesn't seem to fit in the toshiba hard drive. I have unlocked the lever and it doesn't want to go in no matter what orientation I try to put it in.

So are there different cables for different brand drives? Which cable should I get? Maybe I need the other cable that I can't find.

Toshiba and Samsung drives use thin cables and Hitachi use thick ones. You probably got a thick cable.
