T400s battery runtime

#1 Post by pdudas » Sun Feb 27, 2011 11:09 am

Hi!

I have a T400s with W7 X64 Professional installed. SP9600, 128GB SSD, 4GB memory.
Somehow I'm not satisfied with the battery runtime.

My battery is 99% and reconditioned last week so really stores 99% of the factory value (42Wh).
Somehow I cannot go below 15W consume with Wifi turned on (maximum battery settings in the Power manager).
With this maximum 2 hours (maybe little bit more) runtime reachable.
My device has 3G modem, touchscreen, card reader, turbo memory removed.
I tried to turn off as much devices as possible in bios, 3G and BT turned off, USB charging turned off.

Is this correct? Or your T400s runs longer from battery?

I just thinking on maybe the 64 bit OS is the guilty in this.
Originally it came with 32 bit W7 Pro.

What do you think?

Thanks in advance,

Pdudas

Are all of your drivers installed properly?

Is it a new install? Because on new installs, MSCORSVW likes to run for a long while and chew up CPU.

Try running a powercfg -energy diagnostic from the command-line and looking at the errors and warnings.
