T60 issues when going into standby

#1 Post by frankiepankie » Tue Mar 01, 2011 1:04 pm

My T60 has an annoying problem....

It doesn't always want to go in standby correctly.

Sometimes when i want it to go into standby it doesn't do it's job correctly. The problem is that the moon LED is on, but also the battery LED (with the charger NOT connected :?: ) the fan is also running. The screen is dark and it doesn't react to anything i do.

I already ran ThinkVantage System Update, which came up with a new Power Management driver. At that moment i thought that the new driver would fix my problem, but unfortunately it didn't help.

I am running Windows 7 Professional 32bit SP1. Don't blame SP1, because before i installed SP1 it was already doing this ;)

Please help, my T60 is so sleepy and sometimes just needs his rest

This happens when you tell Windows to sleep in the shutdown dialog
or
when you press Fn + F4
or
when you close the screen
or
all of the above?

I don't use any other method.

I think it is an ACPI issue or something, i am on my T60 now, just resumed it from standby, but now i can't change brightness of the screen either.

If i press Fn + Home, or Fn + End, nothing happens :?:

I think i will do a reinstall soon, and also will look for BIOS / EC update, although i am quite sure i already have the latest version.

Which version of video drivers are you using. I have had issues of sleep....with old video drivers. Except the system update should have handled that too. I presume you ran a windows update after the SP1, there are files after SP1 that need installing.

Probably stuff you already checked........

I have updated all my drivers today trough Windows Update and Lenovo System Vantage.

But before i upgraded the drivers it only happened once more, so i think the problem was due to drivers :)
