What is the maximum RAM upgrade for X301-Windows 7 (64 bit)?

#1 Post by ammyphilly » Wed Mar 09, 2011 2:51 pm

Hi, I have a Thinkpad X301, 2GB-RAM, Windows 7-64 bit.
I'm using some statistical packages that need to run on RAM memory.
2 GB-RAM is not enough for me.

I'm not sure what is the maximum RAM that my laptop could recognize?
On the lenovo website, it says maximum RAM is 4 GB for Window vista 64-bit.

Could anyone help me please?

Hi,

ThinkPad X301 accepts 4 GB DDR3 SODIMM memory modules on each DIMM slot. Since it has 2 DIMM slots on motherboard, you can totally install 8 GB of RAM.

I'm also using my X301 with 8 GB of RAM by the way.

Regards
