Got my Tumi Large Computer Sleeve.

#1 Post by CChoi83 » Wed Mar 23, 2005 1:48 am

Hello everyone. Well, I went out to the Tumi store and I purchased the Large Computer Sleeve (http://www.tumi.com/products/index.cfm? ... ryid=13016). It's quite nice asthetically. I wouldn't say it's as protective as a Targus or anything (that's why I also have a Pelican Case) but as I have said before, asthetics are important to me when looking for a sleeve/insert and it's quite nice in that way. As for size, my T42 (2379-R9U) does goes in there with out any problems and there's still space on the side and top (or bottom) for a little extra stuff. I have both 9 and 6-cell batteries so I can fit both of them in with no problems. I haven't tried to stick my AC adapter in there but I'm sure it'll fit. Of course, I bought this to use when I don't need my Adapter. In terms of expandibility there really isn't any as it's nylon and only has three pockets. One pocket for the notebook/laptop, another one in the back for some documents and a tiny one inside the document section for a business card or something of that size. I will try to take pictures sometime this week but don't hold me to it. All in all, I really do like it although I wish it was a bit smaller to hold my T42 exactly or with minimal extra space. I didn't like the other bags that most other had mentioned mainly because they all looked too busy. The Booq Vyper and Powersleeves were basically the only others that I had considered but they too were a bit too messy. I really don't like anything with huge labels or lettering/words on it. Well, if anyone would like to know anything more about it, please don't hesitate to ask.

Best regards,
Chris

P.S. I got it in black. I do like the laptop sleeve that comes with the Booq Cobra.XM though. It seems nice and it comes with a handle. Something that the Tumi doesn't have.

While I'm on the topic of sleeves, has anyone seen in person or tried the new sleeves by Incase (http://www.goincase.com/)? They seem really nice and the quality seems pretty good too. I recently saw the Incase Folio iPod Sleeve (I have the U2 iPod and the Folio was made specifically for it). It's pretty nice I have to say. Their backpacks and sleeves look nice too.

Yes. Well, just read the two quotes on my signature. I think you'll understand. Besides, you buy what you like as long as you can afford it right? I will tell you this though, the Pelican Case that I have was DEFINATELY worth it. If I had to buy another one for any reason whatsoever I wouldn't hesitate. That case is an INVESTMENT.
