Backlight failur

#1 Post by JasperV » Mon Mar 14, 2011 1:06 pm

Hello Guys,

I'm in need of some help with my lenovo thinkpad T61-p. The build date is 07/11 and it's an older device.

My backlight suddenly stopped working. There were no discolorations before, it just suddenly stopped.

I tried replacing both the inverter and the screen backlight but still no joy.

I visually checked the cable connecting the screen to the motherboard and there doesn't seem to be any problem with it.

The power light on the inverter is working, the screen is displaying the lenovo thinkpad logo very faintly at power up and the light on top of the screen also still works.

Do you guys have any clue what I can further check, or is this a lost cause?

Kind regards,
Jasper

Does it work on external monitor ? If not, then I suspect that the problem is on GPU .
