Will games work with Windows 7?
Will games work with Windows 7?
Hello, I have an IBM ThinkPad t40 with 1gb of ram, and a 40gb hdd. I know aero will not be supported, but what about games? (Need for speed most wanted) It works fine under xp, but xp feels so old now, its like 10 years old! I don't really care about aero, I just want games to work fine.

Re: Will games work with Windows 7?
I have played the old NFS Hot Pursuit under Win 7 without problems. Most wanted (as well as many other games) should run just fine under Win7.ccookie66 wrote:Hello, I have an IBM ThinkPad t40 with 1gb of ram, and a 40gb hdd. Re: Will games work with Windows 7?
My point was, if the game runs under XP and is not that old (that is, not from the DOS times) and if Windows 7 can be installed on your machine and your graphics card is supported somehow, then you should be able to run that game under Win 7, too. However, I don´t know how well Win 7 will run on your machine, nor if your graphics card is well supported under Windows 7 (by this, I mean there is a functioning driver for it for Win 7).ccookie66 wrote:ok, well I have ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 as my graphics card.
Cheers,

Re: Will games work with Windows 7?
Oh, ok. I will have to look for a drive then for my graphics card that works in Windows 7. Thanks.

you might also consider adding another 1gb of ram to make win7 happier in general.

Re: Will games work with Windows 7?
If there's nothing about Windows 7 that you particularly need, then upgrading to Windows 7 isn't really too necessary.
(almost tautologic, isn't it?)
Windows 7 should have some better power management, though.
