Perigee moon tonight

#1 Post by killer » Sat Mar 19, 2011 6:24 pm

The moon is closer to Earth (perigee) than it has been for 20 years and now it will head towards its apogee. The view is stunning from southern England. (I can't tell you what it is like elsewhere. )

Combined with the perigee it is a full moon.

I just thought you might like to know. :)

Still cloudy (and raining) here in the South Bay :( . Probably will not be able to see this celestial show.

it was a pretty sight. worth losing a night of other star-gazing activities. normally, i'm a planetary and dso observer.
