T60 falls asleep when left unused for 15 minutes.
I'm sure this subject has risen a few times but I have failed to find an answer. My T60 when plugged in goes to sleep if there is no input. The settings for Battery is 45 mins and for plugged-in -never. The same settings apply to the password function.
I read somewhere that the fault may be in the battery which records full but in fact indicates that it's low (even when plugged in?) Any way that did not work as installing a new battery left me with the same problem. Does anyone have or know a path to a solution. David Wheeldon

Check the Power settings in BIOS, most likely you'll find the culprit there...
There are also settings in Thinkvantage Power mgmt. and in the Display Properties/Screensaver/Power.

Tried all the suggestions. None of the settings seem to be wrong. At the suggestion of my son I looked for programs such as nightwatchman (its a pre-loved laptop) but no luck. Is there a way of detecting the application that causies the display to drop off?

Re: T60 falls asleep when left unused for 15 minutes.
Tell us a bit more.
What's the 7-character TYPE-Model/PRODUCTID of your laptop? Looks like e.g. TYPE: 2007-CTO / PRODUCTID: 200744U
What OS, Windows or Linux and what version?
Does this going to sleep also happen if you switch off wifi, resp disconnect ethernet? (to eliminate remote actions)
Is there a Bluetooth 'yoke' near the laptop that could cause such behavior?

Who installed that W7 Enterprise, you or your company?
T60 never came with W7.
If by your company, they may have loaded an image that was specifically tuned to the company's needs.
You'd need to ask them.
Maybe time to start digging into the Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc).

Can I simply swap out my T5500 CPU in my 1953CTO T60 with a T5600? Or my T2400 core duo in my 2623D6U T60?
