I installed SUSE 9.2 on an extra harddrive that I had. But now, I'd like to put it in an external enclosure and make it bootable? Is there an easy way to do this, or is a re-install to the external drive the best thing.

then, what is the change necessary in the boot sequence?
thanks

It might actually involve quote a few things. You should set boot from usb device, which should be sufficient to get to loader. After that you will have to change your /etc/fstab to match new partition schema, since usb devices differ from ide. You might also have to make changes into how you load usb-storage and usb-scsi, easiest is to compile them into kernel. Can't think of anything else of the top of my head.
