Does the X6x have the T4x Series GPU issue?

#1 Post by EchoFox » Fri Mar 25, 2011 6:13 pm

My question's all in the title.

I put my T43p to rest last year because of it, and I'm thinking of getting an X60 just for fun and because you can never have too many ThinkPads, but it would suck if it failed after a month.

In fact, it would be nice to know every type of ThinkPad that suffers from the GPU solder issue the T4x series has. I think I read the R50 has it. Beyond that, any others?

Not it doesn't. GPU is in the chipset, and I've never heard of one failing.

T61p with nVidia 8600GT (whatever Quadro that corresponds to) GPU is a fail also.

Avoid T61/R61 with Nvidia GPU.

None of the post-X32 12" ThinkPads have discrete graphics, only Intel integrated ones, so there's really nothing to fail...
