LCD Issues

A customer came in with a T500 type 2241-V7N Lenovo Thinkpad with a dead screen, I have replaced the screen and the LCD Data Cable (as this was torn) and the screen worked but no backlight. I replaced the inverter with a brand new backlight still no backlight, replaced that inverter with another brand new one and still nothing - I have tested every connection a number of times and they all seem to be ok (pardon the pun) but can anybody show any light whatsover on this.

Was the new screen a real Lenovo screen (with an FRU) or a compatible one? Some compatible ones are not really compatible and can cause you to blow a fuse on the motherboard.

It was a Samsung 15.4" Screen - but the original screen had back light issues as well.
