Did my wifi card die? Where did it go?

#1 Post by Mr_Roboto » Wed Mar 23, 2005 11:25 pm

Where did my wirless card go? This morning it was there and now it is gone. When I go to the device manager it is not there. What happened?

Is there some kind of test that I can run?

I have a Think pad 2373-HVU.

Thank you for your help,

Rich

If you go to System Properties is it listed in the Device Manager profile under Network Adapters? If it does appear with an exclamation mark then you might need to update/reinstall the drivers. If it doesn't appear maybe either the Power or Aux cables have become detached from the card.....

When I right click on “My Computer” and go to the hardware manager it does not appear with or with out an exclamation mark. I have tried rebooting an untold number of times with no luck. The only thing that I can think of is that when I sent it back for repairs a month ago the mother board they put back in is faulty or the wireless card is not seated correctly.

Is the wireless card end user accessible? I don’t mind my Thinkpad open to reseat it but I do not want to void my warrantee in the process.

Thanks for your help.

Rich
