Guess I'm bored and trying to make an ultimate "extralight" XP setup.
Missing a browser that would fit that description.
Let's play, fellow TPF members...

It's the 2003 T40p that I'm using as a "home away from home" machine, slightly upgraded (Dothan 735 CPU, newer HDD) and I'm trying to create the ultimate "light" XP environment on it, without maxing out the hardware end. The machine spends most of its life in surroundings where other stuff has grown legs before, so an inexpensive yet decent ThinkPad is a must...What sort of hardware are you dealing with?

Yep, I had Chrome on it and it's nowhere as lightweight as most people presume it to be, especially not with a dozen tabs open which is my norm, more or less...also, this machine never goes on YouTube...I have Chrome on my T20 and T22 running Windows FLP and it works perfectly and you can run the latest beta version of it too. Youtube performs the best with Chrome on older machines in my opinion.
I like it so far, quite a lot. We'll see how it behaves in the longer run.how is kmeleon working out, George?
Snake oil. It's just Firefox built with some different compiler flags. There are tons of similar builds. They're not usually measurably different than Firefox.kaede wrote:been tryin these new browser called palemoon. based on firefox. but somehow lighter. but will about the same with all of your firefox addonn.
