R50e PCMCIA USB can boot pendrive with linux?

Helo

I have broken IBM R50e. Probably south bridge is damaged. There is no sound (system does not detect device) and USB does not act (despite ,receives power supply ). I want to buy PCMCIA with USB and connect pendrive with linux ubuntu. It is possibility to boot pendrive with linux from pcmcia card?
T530 / 3210M / 8GB RAM / 512GB SSD Intel / 500GB 2nd HDD Caddy / Intel 4000 / LCD HD / 9 cell / W7 PRO 64bit
