R30 Thinkpad no power

i have a R30 thinkpad and it just shut off on me last week.....i replaced the battery and ac adapter and it still wont turn on. when i replaced the battery it turned on until the battery drained. thats when i thought it was the ac adapter ....but no that didnt help either......any ideas?

Have you tried taking the battery out and plugging in the AC adapter only? I had a dead battery in an older ThinkPad and it would not do a thing until I took out the battery and had it run off AC only.
