Rescue and recovery for T41 and T43

Neither of my two units appear to have the ability to make my own restore disk.

My T41 has the recovery partition, but no Thinkvantage program.
My T43 has no recovery partition ( disc upgraded ) but has the THink Vantage program.

I cannot see any item allowing me to create a restore disk on either machine and I can only seem to locate 'upgrades' to the Resue and recovery application.

I am told I can make my own disks rather than order them from IBM.
Is there a simple solution to this?

Welcome to the Forum.

Unfortunately, I never found a method of burning the recovery disks for the t41 from the partition - all I can say is google is your friend . As for the T43, I believe that it could make recovery disks from it's partition, but since you don't have it on your system, you cannot make the disks (Google had no answers for this one)

What I would reccomend is that you post a WTB in the marketplace and see what people have. Or, if you just want a working system that you can reload if something goes wrong, run the rescue and recovery and create a disk image for re-loading.

I have rebuilt the T41 ( a few times in it's history ) - and never have I found any Rescue or Repair application - but I'm happy to go look for it if you know where it will be found.

I do just want a disk so I can re-install should things go wrong - but alas - I dont have a rescue or repair utility on either laptop.

My own searches seem to imply I need Resue and repair 3.1 before I can even download any of the updates ( from the Lenovo site ).
The Lenovo site seems not to make the original rescue and repair utility available - or perhaps it does but I can't find it.
