T60 Recovery XP2 OS error cant find file: Z:/iubrec.cmd
HI,
If I try to restore to factory state my Thinkpad T60 (using the original Lenovo backup disks) it goes through the whole process of copying data from all the cds and then restarts, but once it had restarted I get the following message:
"Product Recovery could not find Z:\IUBREC.CMD"
Whats this.. I have tried this recovery for more than three times and always get this error. Whats does this mean?
Thanks.

Did you wipe the disk before you ran the recovery? if not, try running DBAN or the PC Doctor disk wiping, and the disks again (you only need to do about 5% of the disk)

No I did not wipe the disk. I run the full recover to the factory settings fromthe recovery CDs.craigmontHunter wrote:Did you wipe the disk before you ran the recovery? if not, try running DBAN or the PC Doctor disk wiping, and the disks again (you only need to do about 5% of the disk)

Use the disk erase utility in PC doctor to erase the drive. As craigmontHunter stated you only need to let it run a few minutes. If the recovery discs still fail the same way, you have a bad CD.

As long as you have a working recovery disk set, then you can do a full erase of the hard drive, including the hidden partition. The recovery set should either prompt you to re-install the hidden partition or do it automatically. You do not have to let PC Doctor run the entire erase operation. Let it run until at least 5% of the disk is erased then you can interrupt the program. What you are doing is wiping out any partitioning information on the disk so that when the recovery operation starts, it sees a "blank" drive and assumes you are doing a fresh install.

Google for Nero CD-DVD Speed 4.7.7.16, download it, and run it in scan disk mode to check your CD's for errors.bototucuxi wrote:Hi again,
