Changing Thinkpad t410i lid
I bought a Thinkpad t410i laptop a while back and the lid has suffered through a bit of wear, and I was wondering if anyone could point to a video/article which details how to remove and change it..Also are the lids with this model interchangable with any other models? I have to seek out a lid somewhere online, so I may have to resort to eBay or somewhere else. I appreciate any help, thanks!

AFAIK, all T410 lid tops are interchangeable -- but check the HMM to be sure! Also, the HMM will provide you with all the dis-assembly and maintenance instructions you will ever need.Ncbrianmisc wrote:I bought a Thinkpad t410i laptop a while back and the lid has suffered through a bit of wear, and I was wondering if anyone could point to a video/article which details how to remove and change it..Also are the lids with this model interchangable with any other models? I don't think you're going to be able to interchange that lid with any other ThinkPad and here's why:
T420(s) is 16:9, so that option's done right off the bat.
T400 is 16:10, but since the T410 is based off the T400s and not the T400 I believe it's going to be a little bit different.
T400s is more of a thin-and-light model than the T410 is, so I don't think it would fit.
Since the T400 won't take that lid, the T61 probably won't either.
T60 is 4:3, so it and earlier models won't take it.
I guess you could try it but I don't think it would work.

A layer of duct tape covers it up and gives it a nice shine too
