T400 won't start

#1 Post by Aruners » Sun Apr 17, 2011 9:51 am

I have a T400 ThinkPad and it shut down automatically because the battery died. I charged my battery and when I go to start, it sits in the ThinkPad lenovo start-up screen for hours. I tried to interrupt normal startup, by pressing the ThinkVantage button, but, this does not work. I have tried the f1, f10, f11, f12, f2 keys; but, nothing is working. Do you know what I can do? I called Lenovo and they told me it would take 2 weeks and $575 for them to check it out. Don't want to do that. thank you.

What happens if you try to boot a CD, like a Linux Live CD?

welcome to the forum.
sorry you're having such troubles.

in addition to what Harry suggests, have you tried booting with the battery physically removed?
