Help with my 380z please.

:?: Something really strange is happening in win98 that does not happen at all in win2k. When I run a program called ataskmanager to check the processor usage, it says that it is consistently using anywhere from 30 to 60% all the time.

I reinstalled win98 from scratch because I figured that a program or something was causing the problem. The thing is, after I installed win98, installed the video driver, and installed the wireless NIC, it still claims to be using a certain % of the cpu at all times just like before.

Like I said, win2k does not exhibit that problem at all with the wireless nic installed as well. It does not seem to slow down the system but that is hard to tell sense I only have 64MB of ram and that gets used up right away.

The other thing is, when enable dma on my harddrive, it increases the processor usage according to the ataskmanager. This is obviously a win98 issue but I have not idea what would be causing it or if it really is happening at all, it could just be an issue with processor % readers. My Object Desktop control center % usage meter showed 100% all the time but the system seemed to run ok anyways.

Any ideas?????

Joe
